Welcome to East Taieri School

We welcome you to East Taieri School, and wish you and your children a happy and positive association with the school. Whether your child is just starting school aged five, or joining us having transferred from another school, we at East Taieri wish to make this first important day a happy one!

You can receive an information pack which contains a general overview of school life. We trust that you will find it useful and we would be happy to respond to any specific questions or enquiries that you might have.

Board of Trustees

Information

The Board of Trustees (BOT) meets monthly and meetings are advertised in the school newsletter. The BOT has the overall responsibility for the smooth running of the school, although it delegates much of the day to day management of this to the Principal and staff. The main practical concerns of the Board are policy development and strategic planning, budgeting and administration of funds, appointment and employment of staff, maintenance and improvement of school buildings and grounds, ensuring the health and safety of students, staff, parents and school visitors. These key areas are looked after by individuals who report to the full Board each month. The Board in turn reports to the school community and to the Ministry of Education on a regular basis.

Members of the school community are welcome to attend any Board meetings. Minutes of each meeting are available fro the office. Board members are elected by parents for a three year term.
