Photos - there have been a lot of new photos added to the classroom page - these include the junior tramp to Ross Creek, club days and the kapa haka group performance.

Welcome to Term 4 at East Taieri School.  Our inquiry for this term is , Technology "Can We Make it?  Yes We Can!" which teachers and children are very excited about.  Throughout this unit the classes will be learning about the technology process and the design process.  Look around the school and see if you can spot our children's creations. 


SMART LUNCHES

These are available MONDAY, WEDNESDAYS AND FRIDAYS - $2.00 or $3.00 sandwich order. WEDNESDAY ONLY - hot lunches are available at $3.00. You can order Chow Mein, Macaroni Cheese, Spaghetti Bolognese and Shepherds Pie. Sandwiches are also available on a Wednesday. Please have orders into the office by 9am with your name and order on the front of an envelope.

Our BIG QUESTION that we have for the year is:

How do the actions of people affect the future in a sustainable way?

This question guides and directs our topics and inquiries for the year. Each term we have a topic big question which relates to the year big question. For this inquiry the big question are:

We also have key understandings - these key understandings are the important ideas that we want to the children to explore and gain understanding of:

  • People make/create quality products by working through a series of steps in a process.
  • Materials have qualities that make them better suited for certain products than others.
  • There are a variety of other factors and considerations that influence how and why a product is made.
